Wow, brave Wayne! The Derby County manager has revealed he rejected his boyhood club Everton.
As Futaa reported over the past few weeks, Wayne Rooney emerged as one of the targets to replace Rafa Benitez at Goodison Park.
The former Manchester United star has now revealed that the Toffees did make a call, but Rooney decided to focus on his job at Derby.
Additionally, the former England international believes he is not yet ready to take charge of a Premier League side.
"Everton approached my agent and asked me to interview for the job. I turned it down," Rooney said as per Fabrizio Romano.
"I believe I will be a PL manager and am ready for that 100%. But I have a job at Derby, which is important to me."
