AC Milan's Franck Kessie on the verge of Barcelona move

Laliga giants FC Barcelona are on the verge of completing the signing of AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

ESPN reports that the Ivory Coast international will move to Camp Nou on a free transfer, when his contract at the Serie A club expires on June 30 after agreeing the move's final details with the Ivory Coast international's agent.

Kessie, 25, has been a first-team regular at Milan since joining from Atalanta in 2017 and has scored five goals in 22 Serie A appearances this season after registering career-best figures, 13 goals in 37 league games, in 2020-21.

The only issue that Barca was to iron in the deal was the commission to the player's agent George Atangana which has now been completed. It is claimed that Atangana was registered with the Spanish football federation (RFEF) to be able to receive compensation for his role in the signing.

The club has now turned their attention to the signing of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen with the deal set to be completed in the coming days.

Centre-back Christensen will be the next incoming at Camp Nou, as Barca waits on developments in their bid to sign Chelsea teammate Cezar Azpilicueta on a free transfer.
