🏆 Vipers SC crowned 2021/22 UPL champions

Vipers SC are the 2021/22 Uganda Premier League champions for the fifth time following a 3-0 victory over Express FC on Friday.

Vipers beat champions Express FC 3-0 in a UPL tie staged at St Mary’s Stadium to open the gap between themselves and second-placed KCCA to 14 points. The Venoms have been crowned the champions with four games to spare.

Yunus Sentamu scored a brace before Bright Anukani made it 3-0, a victory that saw Vipers lift the tile.

Express’ fifth defeat in 27 matches leaves them in sixth place on 42 points.

Elsewhere, KCCA beat Tooro 2-0 to keep their dreams alive of finishing second this campaign. Youngster Sadat Anaku’s double on 45 and 73 minutes was enough to further punish relegated Tooro.

In Bombo, URA striker Cromwell Rwothomio took full advantage of Viane Sekajugo’s assist to help the Tax Collectors to all three points in the 1-0 victory over UPDF.

URA’s 13th win in 27 matches has them in third place on 49 points, while the UPDF are ninth on 33.
