Tenants cuffed as KCCA open eight-point gap

KCCA FC delivered a new year’s message to their local rivals with a 6-3 thrashing of Police FC at the StarTimes stadium in Lugogo.

The City Lads delivered yet another irresistible first-half display as they threw five unanswered questions to their Lugogo tenants.

Mike Mutebi tinkered a bit with his starting team that struggled in a scrappy 2-1 win over BUL last week, this time bringing in Mustapha Kizza, Filbert Obenchan and Julius Poloto.

Last time scorers, Mike and Muzamir Mutyaba had early chances but the former saw his 7th minute curling effort from a free kick saved by the keeper as the latter skied his overhead attempt.

Goal-fest

Poloto repaid his master’s faith with a beautifully curled shot in the fifteenth minute off a sumptuous assist by Jackson Nunda.

Mutyaba, the Muzamir one, doubled the lead five minutes later with a rocket from over 20 yards.

The other Mutyaba scored the third with less than three minutes gone after restart as the Lugogo landlords continued to explore the loopholes in the porous Police backline.

Nunda netted one shortly after the hour-mark before Muzamir completed his brace in the 41st.

Police threaten

Juma Balinya grabbed a brace for Police just before the break, and after reducing the deficit to three as the cops threatened to bail themselves with a miracle comeback.

Patrick Kaddu restored the four-goal cushion with his 7th goal of the season with barely two minutes after stepping on the pitch as a 70th minute substitute.

Derrick Kakooza scored another for the away team in the dying minutes but it was too late for the cops to cause a scare.

The crashing victory extends KCCA’s lead by eight points as Police swap places with Express to settle on 7th with a poor goal difference.
