Wanga strike ensures Homeboyz-Zoo Bukhungu encounter draws
Allan Wanga scored an important goal to force a 1-1 draw against visiting Zoo at Bukhungu Stadium on January 12th, 2018.
Newton Ondari stunned Bukhungu and Homeboyz as he scored the opening goal in the 1st minute of the feisty encounter.
Luke Namanda would have done better with his 23rd-minute open chance but his initial touch was not good enough to allow him to aim goal while inside the area. Zoo survived the constant onslaught from the hosts and did hold on with Martin Elungat proving a pair save of hands as he put out Homeboyz shots out one after the other.
Allan Wanga finally pulled the equalizing goal for his side three minutes after the half-hour mark. David Okoth was the creator of that important assist. Meanwhile, Stanlaus Akiya was booked for a dangerous tackle on Benjamin Okech, Homeboyz were on a surge before the Zoo man stopped t, therefore, attracting the referee’s intervention.
Maxwell Ravel with a very open chance in the 55th minute failed to beat Elungat in goal thus squandering Homeboyz clear chance to take the lead at home. Danson Chetambe was denied by the post after a sumptuous free-kick in the 79th minute.
Zoo was reduced to ten men after Chetambe was sent off for a dangerous foul on Festus Okiring in the 89th minute.
