Former Cameroon captain Stephane Mbia has ended his contract with French club Toulouse; the club has announced.

The 32-year-old midfielder leaves the club just five months after signing with them and making five appearances for them.

A statement on Toulouse website noted: “In agreement with the management of the TFC, Stéphane M'Bia decided to terminate his contract with the TFC.

Thank You

“Stéphane wishes to thank the TFC for allowing him a return to the French league and wishes the club, its leaders and its supporters a beautiful second half of the season. The TFC also salutes Stéphane for his commitment, his experience, and his professionalism and wishes him the best in the pursuit of his great career.

The statement, however, did not reveal where Mbia was headed with rumors rife that the midfielder is keen in venturing into management.

Prior to his move to Toulouse Mbia had been a free agent since leaving Hebei China Fortune in March 2017 after two years with the Chinese club. He had previously featured for Olympic Marseille in the French Ligue 1.
