Kirinya Jinja SSS matched Onduparaka in everything as the two played out a goalless draw on Saturday in Arua.
Prior to that encounter, Kirinya had lost their previous two visits in identical 1-0 results but were determined to get at least a point from the match.
The early exchanges between the two sides had promised an explosive and physical encounter.
Richard Ayikoh almost put his side ahead with a long tricky swerving shot which, unexpectedly, bounced in front of Rubangakene in Kirinya’s goal but the keeper tracked back and tipped off for a corner.
Madondo had his powerful stinging free kick deflected just inches over the bar a minute later.
But as the game aged, the visitors opted to slow down their hosts attack as they absorbed the pressure with Isaac Isinde standing tall to keep their lines clean.
The result, coupled with others from elsewhere, leaves Kirinya 11th but with 21 points as Onduparaka drop two places to 8th with 26.
