Match Fixing scandal: Mbarara City, Tooro picked out

Mbarara City FC and Tooro United have been singled out for investigations over match fixing allegations.

The Mbarara side raised eyebrows in the manner in which they survived relegation last season. The team picked nine points from their last six home games, scoring penalties in five consecutive games.

“Mbarara City Football Club and Tooro United Football Club have also been forwarded for investigation/adjudication by the FUFA Ethics Committee for actions deemed to be in contravention with the FUFA Ethics Code,” FUFA revealed in a statement.

Tooro United was, until last season, known as Soana.
