Uganda Cup: Simo coy on Express’ ambitions after ejecting Police

Newly appointed Express Fc head coach George Ssemwogerere cannot commit himself to win a silverware for the club this season.

The Red eagles sit tenth on the Uganda premier League table with 24 points, twenty behind the league leaders KCCA.

That leaves the Stanbic Uganda cup as their only realistic hope of a silverware this season especially after ejecting Police to reach the quarter final stage.

But, the head coach, Ssemwogerere is not ready to commit anything as he adopts a play and wait kind of approach.

“They played well as they were supposed to and helped each other just a few things we have to rectify and this is a new system so it’s hard for them but they will learn it,” Semwogerere told the club media after the game.

When asked about the overall ambitions in the competition, the coach said: “We can’t plan for the final to win the trophy, we plan for every stage we reach. We can’t jump a river before we reach it. We reach the river and see what next.

“In football we judge the game on the field of play not what happened yesterday so we have to plan for this level then if we qualify we plan for another level.”
