Stoke City's Oghenekaro Etebo still not 100% match fit

The officials at Stoke City Football Club have confirmed that midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo is yet to attain a full fitness level.

Football Live reported earlier this week that Etebo was due back in action this weekend after being out since March 2 but it has been revealed that The Potters believe he may still need more assessing ahead of their midweek Championship fixture.

Consequently, Etebo might now require a late fitness test to determine if he will be okay enough to face Derby County, as Stoke seek another win in midweek to take them further up the second-tier league’s log.

It is rather unstable at the moment for Etebo, who earlier missed out on The Potters’ outing against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Saturday, March 9 but was back in training ahead of a date with Frank Lampard’s side.

However, Stoke confirmed on Tuesday, March 12 that they will have to wait on Etebo ahead of Wednesday’s game, as the 23-year-old continues his recovery from a groin injury he sustained after scoring in his team’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest two weeks ago.
