Tammy Abraham to undergo scan to determine extent of injury

Tammy Abraham is set to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury he sustained in Saturday's Championship clash between Aston Villa and Middlesbrough (March 16).

Abraham who is on loan from Chelsea has been reported as a doubtful for England U21 games in March against Poland and Germany following his substitution in the 72nd minute due to injury.

The 21-year-old was included in the England U21 squad list along with three other players of Nigerian descent in the shape of Fikayo Tomori, Ademola Lookman and Dominic Solanke.

''Tammy felt it but we are hoping it is cramp or fatigue more than anything. Anwar has come off with fatigue, too, because we’ve had three games in six days,''  said manager Dean Smith to Villa TV.

''Tammy will now have a scan.''

The Nigeria Football Federation target has notched 21 goals in 32 appearances in the Championship so far this season but has managed only one goal in his last seven games.
