The Premier Soccer League has taken action against Bloemfontein Celtic after their supporters invaded the pitch in protest on Sunday.
As reported by Futaa, the incident happened against Cape Town City, leading to the fixture's abandoned before half time.
Reports confirmed with a Celtic supporter that the hooliganism, which included a clash with the police, was frustration that was aimed towards the club’s hierarchy.
“Bloemfontein Celtic has been charged with failure to provide adequate security for the match and bringing the League‚ sponsors Absa‚ SAFA‚ CAF and FIFA into disrepute‚” the PSL said in a statement today.
According to Times Live, the club will face the league’s Disciplinary Board on 25 April.
