Watford 0-1 Arsenal: Read what Alex Iwobi said after the game

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has hailed Watford for a good contest in an English Premier League tie on Monday night.

Arsenal won the encounter 1-0 with Watford's captain Troy Deeney getting the matching order from referee Craig Pawson.

Despite the red card, Arsenal failed to capitalise on the advantage as the game ended 1-0.

“They fought till the last whistle and I think they deserved the accolades they received from their fans after the match,” Iwobi said.

“But we ought to have wrapped up the game in the first half after (Troy) Deeney’s red card, we created some chances but we couldn't convert them.

“In the second half towards the end of the game, they looked as if they were 13 players on the field.”

Iwobi said the win was crucial as they have now returned to Top-4.

“The most important thing is that we won the match and we are fourth on the table with 66 points with a game in hand,” he said.

“Top-4 is our priority as a team.

Iwobi played the entire 90 minutes for Arsenal, while compatriot Isaac Success was a sub for Watford.
