Samuel Chukwueze is disappointed with Villarreal's draw against Huesca, but insist the club will continue fighting on to ensure they stay up in La Liga.

Relegation strugglers Villarreal and Huesca played out a 1-1 draw at the weekend.

It was a disappointing result for the Nigerian as Huesca netted a late equalizer to deny Villarreal an important win.

“It was a shock for me because I thought we had the victory in our hands, not till they drew level. It is really disappointing to us because we wanted the three points.

Villarreal are now 14th on the table with 40 points, and three rounds of matches to the end of the season in Spain.

Chukwueze said his team cannot afford a slip in their final games so that they could again feature in La Liga next season.

“For the remaining matches, it is a fight to finish, any slight error will throw you down to the second-tier league, which will be so disappointing,” he said.

“I will continue to do best to make sure my club remain in the top flight in Spain. It's my top priority right now.”
