Luis Suarez put his disappointment aside and congratulated Liverpool players after his Barcelona side were dumped out of the Champions League following a 4-0 drubbing at Anfield.
In an act of class from the Argentine, he praised his former teammates for their stunning victory, which saw them reach the finals for the second year running.
Speaking after the match, Suarez blasted his teammates for 'playing like a youth team', and called on them to right their wrongs.
"We are very sad, very hurt. It’s time to do a lot of self-criticism in our team, it is the second time that this has happened," he said after the match.
"We cannot commit the same mistake two years in a row, we have to think about many things and must be ourselves, tell us things in the face, things that we’ve done wrong. It’s not possible that in one minute we concede two goals. Their fourth goal? We looked like a youth team there,"
Barcelona have already clinched the La Liga title and will be looking to add a second title when they play Valencia in the Kings Cup finals.
