West Brom vs Aston Villa: Bet on goals galore as Villa protect a first leg lead in the playoff semis

The Championship playoff semifinal second leg is upon us and only one of West Brom & Aston Villa can go to Wembley for a shot at the Premier League promised land.

We've placed bets on a massive day in the English football calendar. Here's a full betting preview and best bets from betPawa!

Match preview 🏆

West Brom caretaker boss Jimmy Shan admits Albion must approach Tuesday night's contest on the front foot if they are going to overturn a 2-1 deficit and reach Wembley. The Baggies led for almost an hour only for the match to be turned on its head later in the piece.

Villa struck twice inside three second-half minutes and leading scorer Dwight Gayle was sent off ruling him out of this clash, which surely tips the scales in favour of the visitors. West Brom supporters might feel aggrieved by that, as well as the referee's failure to give a penalty following a foul on Mason Holgate.

Only Champions Norwich outscored this pair in the regular season, and with West Brom's need to adopt a positive approach here, we expect goals with so many talented and counter-attacking players on display.

Men to watch & team news 🌟

With Hal Robson-Kanu also banned, Jay Rodriguez, is likely to lead the attack with support from Matt Phillips. The hosts will check on defender Craig Dawson and may opt to include out-of-contract teenager Rekeem Harper from the start. Dwight Gayle scored in the first leg but was also dismissed, meaning that he will miss this clash.

On-loan Chelsea star Tammy Abraham scored the winner in the first leg and is the key man here again and will lead the line.
