Mount Kenya United head coach Melis Medo has torn into his former side, Sofapaka FC by claiming that his 'players' are responsible for the club's good form.
Sofapaka are on course for a third-place finish in the league after mounting a title charge for the better part of the season. Medo was installed at the helm of Batoto Ba Mungu at the start of the season but was sacked at the turn of the year following a string of poor results at the club. He then returned to his former side Mount Kenya United but a financial crisis that led to their poor form saw them club relegated from the Kenyan Premier League.
Speaking in an interview after the 3-0 loss to Kariobangi Sharks, Medo claimed that Sofapaka's good run was down to his effects at the club, "Most of the players who are performing at Sofapaka now are my players, how many players in the pitch 10 plus the keeper, Mike(Odour) never played, I brought him in, Brian (Magonya) he never played, I brought him, you have Faina (Jacobs) you have Aivre (John) so that's four out of 10, there is Kasumba who left Sofapaka but I brought him back.
"Take my players out and let's see Sofapaka, this is reality, now Sofapaka play long ball, Mount Kenya, no money but we don't play long ball."
