West Ham takes sly dig at Spurs after Champions League loss
West Ham could not resist the urge to take a dig at rivals Tottenham Hotspur after they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday night in Madrid.
Goals from Mohammed Salah in the first minute and Divock Origi late in the game were enough for Jurgen Klopp’s side to see off Spurs in a drab final at the Wanda Metropolitano.
West Ham joined the rest of the world in congratulating the Reds and clearly spelt it out on their Twitter account in a clear dig aimed at their London rivals.
Despite Spurs being the best side of the night, it was Liverpool who took their chances when it mattered most, ending a highly successful season with Europe's biggest club prize.
The win also helped Klopp end his final cup hoodoo after numerous missed chances including last season's defeat in Kyiv against Real Madrid.
They finished second behind Manchester City in the English Premier League and were arguably one of the best sides to watch through the campaign.
