Nigeria's Flying Eagles have crashed out from the FIFA U20 World Cup following a 2-1 defeat to West African rivals Senegal.
Defensive errors and lack of coherence was Flying Eagles' greatest undoing on the night in Lodz.
First half goals from Amadou Sagna and Niane saw Senegal through to the quarter final.
Sagna opened scoring in the 36th minute before Niane doubled the score seconds to half time.
A well-taken freekick by Success Makanjuola went past goalkeeper Dialy Ndiaye to give Nigeria a glimmer of hope but all effort to draw level met a resilient Senegal defense.
Following their ouster from the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup, the coach Paul Aigbogun tutored side will now board the next available flight on Tuesday back to Nigeria.
