Former Hearts of Oak head coach Yaw Preko has been appointed to take charge of the Ghana U20 national team according to Football Ghana reports.
The team has been without a coach since failing to qualify for the 2019 CAF U20 Cup of Nations.
Reports in the media have speculated that the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Normalization Committee (NC) has decided to give the former Anderlecht man the job.
Preko will be work alongside George Lamptey from EurAfrica Calcio Academy as the assistant coach.
The former Ghana international comes into the job with plentiful experience having worked with some of the top coaches in the country and working with Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies respectively.
Preko previously worked with Nigerian side Ifeanyi Ubah FC where he led them to win the domestic cup.
The coach also worked with the national youth team as an assistant to Sellas Tetteh at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey.
