Two Spanish La Liga clubs Villarreal and Getafe are in the race to sign Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo after Chelsea rejected an initial offer by Leganes.
“Leganes offered 2.5 million Euros for Omeruo, but Chelsea have turned down this,” a source close to the big central defender informed SCORENigeria.
Leganes are expected to step up their offer, but in the meantime Villarreal and Getafe have moved in for the Super Eagles defender.
It was understood that Leganes will do everything to keep him in Madrid including offering Chelsea a tempting sell-on should they sell the defender thereafter.
Omeruo is presently with the Super Eagles in Egypt ahead of the AFCON, which kicks off on June 21.
