Manchester United new signing reveals role played by Giggs in his transfer

13 Jun 2019, 00:10

Ryan Giggs played a big role in Daniel James move to Manchester United, reveals the Wales star.

James was unveiled by United on Wednesday after a deal had been agreed with Swansea for the transfer last week. The club’s first summer signing revealed Wales boss Giggs played a big role in his dream transfer as he ‘obviously mentioned me here.’ Daniel signed a five-year deal with the Red Devils with an option for a further year.

"Ryan [Giggs] was a big credit to why I'm here now," James told ManUtd.com.

"He gave me the opportunity in the Slovakia game and that was amazing for me. The trust he has given me and he has watched a few games at Swansea and he is a credit to why I'm here now because he obviously mentioned me here. I give a lot back to him from that."

The player is reported to have cost United £15 million which is expected to increase to £19 million with add-ons.
