Mathare United winger Cliff Nyakeya is on the verge of joining Egyptian top-flight side FC Masr according to reports.
The player who is already in Egypt is a free agent after his contract with Mathare United came to end in the just-concluded season.
The player had been heavily linked with a move to Kenyan Premier League newbies Wazito FC with Gor Mahia being touted as another club who were interested in his services.
Nyakeya, who was named the 2018 Kenya Premier League midfielder of the year scored 14 goals as Mathare United finished sixth last season.
He is a graduate of the Gor Mahia youth team and has been one of the most consistent performers in the Kenyan top flight; a feat that earned him a slot in Sebastien Migne’s squad for the 2020 CHAN Qualifications.
