In their second season in the Kenyan Premier League since gaining promotion in October 2018, KCB FC is looking to beef their squad ahead of the new season.
The team will be having a new head coach in Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno after the departure of coach Frank Ouna and the former Harambee Stars and Gor Mahia coach has wasted no time in looking for players with KPL experience.
Zico has invited midfielder ‘Gattuso’ Okoth for training with the team; the duo having worked together at Gor Mahia. Another player who is training with the team is forward Stephen Waruru who left Sofapaka FC on Monday.
Apart from the duo, former AFC Leopards midfielder Khalid Jumaan is another player who is training with the club.
In the 2018/19 season, the bankers finished in a respectable tenth position with 45 points and they will be looking to better that when the league resumes on August 31.
Zico will start his KCB tenure with a tie against his former employers in Sony Sugar at the Awendo Green Stadium before welcoming league newbies Kisumu All-Stars at the Kenyatta Stadium-Machakos.
Ties against Zico former employers Gor Mahia then comes in the third game before wrapping their first five weeks with ties against Kakamega Homeboyz and Nzoia Sugar FC.
