Gor Mahia captain Haron Shakava is on the verge of sealing a move to Zambian Super League side Nkana FC this after being released by his club.
In a statement on the club’s official portal, Gor noted: “Gor Mahia FC captain Haron Shakava has officially left the club through mutual agreement.
“The long-serving player joined k’Ogalo in 2014 from Kakamega Homeboyz and has been instrumental, winning 5 KPL titles among other domestic titles including the KPL top 8 and super cup and making over 200 appearances for the club in that period.”
Shakava has been training with Nkana FC in the past week and according to sources, he has already inked a three year deal with the side that has another Kenyan in Musa Mohammed.
Musa and Shakava played together at Gor and this will be a reunion of a sort with the latter having been handed the club’s armband from Musa in 2018 after he left for Albania side KF Tirana.
Shakava will be remembered in leading Gor into the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup in Two consecutive seasons with the team proceeding to the quarterfinals of the competition in the last edition.
