Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has revealed his reason behind motivating Sheyi Ojo to showcase his quality and consistency in his loan spell at Rangers.
Ojo has managed to score three goals from six league appearance upon his move to Rangers - now he is set to make his start for the Scottish outfit when they meet FC Midtjylland in the Europa League third qualifying round on Thursday.
Though Ojo is in top form at the moment, he is not resting on his laurels and wants to keep improving.
Speaking at Wednesday's press conference, Ojo told Rangers TV: ''I and the gaffer (Gerrard) had a conversation before about showing my quality as much as I can, every game, every training session.
''As the season will go on, I hope that I can keep improving and keep showing what I can do.
''For now, I am just taking it a step at a time and obviously tomorrow's game we are all looking forward to it.''
On the competition in the Rangers squad, Ojo said: '''Obviously it is clear like the manager has already told us that every time we get an opportunity we have to take it, so the likes of Brandon Barker coming in, it has not really done anything to me.
''I know every game I have to be at a 100 % and if I get the opportunity I have to show what I can do.''
A World Cup winner with England at U20 level, Ojo has been loaned out to Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham, Reims and Rangers since joining Liverpool.
