Chelsea's English Premier League campaign might have received a timely boost, with news that Antonio Rudiger and Willian might be in contention for the Sunday match against Leicester City.
The two were not part of the squad for the preseason tour, and have missed the club's first two competitive matches; a Premier League match against Manchester United and the Uefa Super Cup final against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Willian reported back to camp late due to his participation with the national team but suffered a minor injury that he has been recovering from.
Rudiger, on the other hand, was injured towards the end of last season and has stepped up his recovery in recent weeks.
Speaking ahead of the match, coach Frank Lampard revealed that the two have made a considerable recovery, and might be in contention for a role.
"Rudiger and Willian are getting closer to fitness and are both in contention for the Leicester game," revealed during the pre-match conference.
He further added that Hudson-Odoi is also getting closer to full recovery, and has been training with the development squad in the last week.
Chelsea will welcome the Foxes at the Bridge eager to pick their first win, especially after an encouraging match against Liverpool in midweek.
