Tusker FC striker David Majak has thanked his teammates after bagging the 2019 New Young Player of the season in the SJAK gala that was hosted at the Kenya Nationa Museums auditorium on Monday 19 August.
In a statement released by Tusker Majak who was not present to receive his award said: "Many thanks goes out to entire Tusker FC family. I got this through our hard work and commitment. I really appreciate my teammate efforts for making me who I am today. I joined Tusker and I got into the system very easily thanks to them."
Magak joined the 2016 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) in the 2018/19 midseason and hit the ground running as coach Robert Matano tasked him with leading the team strike force in that period where he helped them to a fourth-place finish.
The 19-year old who shone in the 2018 Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom with Kapenguri heroes and was named the MVP in the tournament last year was a free agent after being dropped by Kakamega Homeboyz who considered him surplus to requirements.
Kapenguria and Majak overcame Gor Mahia Youth in the Chapa Dimba finals; a feat that earned them a date with Harambee Stars captain and Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Victor Wanyama during their one week trip to London.
