Pitso suggests new injury rule

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has proposed what should happen to players who cause serious injuries on others.

Following Sundowns forward Keletso Makgalwa’s injury against Cape Town City on Tuesday night, Mosimane has come out to say that the incident deserved more than a yellow card to Thamsanqa Mkhize.

“When you go for his Achilles tendon - for me if you do that, it should not be a yellow card,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the game.

The holding Absa Premiership coach of the Season went on to suggest that Mkhize and any player that causes serious injury harm should be suspended for the same period it will take the injured player to recover.

“Even if you give him a yellow now, he must wait for Keletso to come back (from injury). If Keletso is out for three weeks, he (Mkhize) should also come back after three weeks.”

“Because he (Makalgwa) is out, but he (Mkhize) stayed on the pitch. When you deliberately injure a player, you should wait for him to come back. I know everyone is going to say I am doing my own rules, but I think it makes sense,” concluded ‘Jingles.’
