Philippe Coutinho has heaped praise on Robert Lewandowski, after the Polish striker stole the show on the Brazilian's debut against Schalke 04 on Saturday.
It was Coutinho's first appearance in Bayern shirt since making the temporary switch from Barcelona, but Lewandowski stole the show after scoring a hat trick.
Speaking after the match, Coutinho revealed his admiration for the striker, who has five goals in two matches for the Bundesliga champions this season.
“He’s incredible, just world-class,” the Brazil international told reporters after his debut.
“It’s incredible, the way he trains. I’ve been here a week and watching him up close he’s so much better than you think on TV,"
“He had a great game today, a great hat-trick and he deserves it,"
Coutinho had a largely impressive debut after coming on in the 57th minute and will be keen on regaining his former self after a disappointing time in Spain.
Bayern suffered a shock 2-2 draw at home to Hertha Berlin in the opening fixture, and were playing catch up game with rivals Borussia Dortmund, who won on Friday night.
The Brazilian might get more playing time at Allianz Arena, with the club having lost Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben at the end of last season.
