Ashanti Gold captain Shafiu Mumuni has a burning desire to get the opportunity to wear the Ghana Black Stars jersey.
Mumuni has been on many people’s lips after inspiring Ashgold with a hattrick in a CAF Confederation Cup win over Akonangui FC last weekend.
Mumuni expressed his high respect for the Black Stars jersey, saying it will be ‘a dream come true.’ “It will be an honour to be called. It’ll be a dream come true for me,” Shafiu told Fox FM via Ghana Web.
He added: “I’m praying to get that opportunity because it’s not just anyone that gets the chance to wear the Black Stars jersey.”
“I’ll be very happy if Coach Kwasi Appiah calls me,” he added. Meanwhile, the hot striker has joined up with the Black Stars B team ahead of a CHAN 2020 qualifier.
The CAFCC campaign will continue with the tougher opposition of Morocco’s RS Berkane in September.
