Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar will retire at the Ligue 1 giants says La Liga president Javier Tebas.
Tebas believes Neymar could end his career with PSG unless both his salary demands and the French club’s asking price are lowered. The Brazilian was tipped to leave the French club in the summer with Barcelona termed the possible destination but the deal failed to materialize. And now Tebas believes no club in the world of football will be able to land the Brazilian from PSG unless both parties make adjustments when it comes to their own requirements.
"The problem of not coming back now [to Barcelona] has to do with his own departure to PSG. It was an off-market transfer, it was only possible to happen with 'traps' to increase sponsorships,” he said.
"When you do it out of the market, it is impossible to sell again at this price. In view of the market, Neymar will retire at PSG unless he lowers his salary and also his PSG claims.”
Neymar’s contract with PSG is set to expire in the summer of 2022.
