The Zambia U23 national team local contingent have safely arrived home following their qualification to the 2019 Egypt Africa Cup of Nations in Congo Brazzaville on Sunday.
The team arrived at 01:10 hours at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and was welcomed by FAZ president Andrew Kamanga and secretariat staff. Foreign based players connected directly to their various bases after the assignment in Brazzaville.
The 'Bola na Lesa' Boys fought back to hold the hosts, Congo Brazzaville to a 3-3 draw to qualify 5-4 on aggregate after having won 2-1 at home.
Zambia will join host Egypt, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria and South Africa for the final tournament scheduled for 8-22 November in Cairo, where the top three finishers will qualify to represent Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
