English Premier League giants Liverpool have opened new contract talks with striker Sadio Mane according to reports from England.
The Senegal international's current deal does not expire until 2023, but the Reds are keen to tie him down for even longer after being one of their most consistent players since arriving from Southampton FC.
Mane who helped Senegal to the final of the 2019 African Cup of Nations only to lose to Algeria scored 26 goals in all competitions for the Jurgen Klopp side last season as they finished second in the Premier League and won the Champions League.
Mane has also made a fine start to this campaign, netting six times in six appearances with his latest being a brace against Newcastle United at Anfield on Saturday 14 September.
Liverpool wants to reward Mane for his outstanding outing but the negotiations are believed to be at an early stage.
The forward had been linked a move to Real Madrid in the summer and offers are expected to come his way should he continue with the good streak.
There has been a rumor of discontent between him and Egyptian forward Mohammed Salah but the same has been quashed by Klopp.
