Paul Nkata finds a new home in Uganda

Former Tusker FC and Bandari FC head coach Paul Nkata has been named as the new boss of Uganda Premier League side Mbarara City FC.

The Ugandan has been handed the reigns of the club until the end of the season with the club confirming his signing on Tuesday afternoon.

Nkata takes over from Brian Ssenyondo who has been coaching the side on an interim basis with Ssenyondo expected to return to his role as the club’s assistant coach role.

Nkata has been away from the scene for a close to one year after allegations of match-fixing rocked his boat while with Kenyan Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz.

Homeboyz Stint

After the Homeboyz stint, he was to be appointed as the new URA FC boss in his native Uganda but was to resign in April this year after a heavy 7-1 defeat at the hands of KCCA FC.

Apart from Tusker FC, Kakamega Homeboyz and Bandari FC, the tactician coached Muhoroni Youth and National Super League side Nairobi City Stars in the Kenyan football scene.

His son, Paul Nkata represents Bandari in the Kenyan top flight.
