Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides injury updates on Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial

Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial missed Manchester United's squad that is set to take on AZ Alkmaar with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer providing an injury update on the duo.

Pogba failed to travel to the Netherlands for United's Europa League group game with AZ Alkmaar due to an ankle injury he suffered in the 1-1 draw with Southampton which was aggravated in the win over Rochdale but played against Arsenal. Martial has been out with a thigh injury since the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Alkmaar clash, Solskjaer provided an injury update on the duo, "After discussions with the specialists that we planned he needs further treatment and rest, yeah, on his ankle. And I probably wouldn't risk him on astroturf anyway, if he was available for this game, but he needs a rest now.

"We've had Anthony out for a while, I don't think he'll make it (against Newcastle)."
