Liverpool's next five fixtures: How long can their unbeaten run last?

Liverpool have been at their best in the opening two months of the English Premier League, opening an eight-point lead at the top of the table with a perfect record.

The team's resilience was on show for everyone to see last time out when they scored from the spot in the 94th minute to take all three points against a well-disciplined Leicester City

Many can argue that they were lucky, but history has shown that certain victories through the season count at the end as they decide the winner.

Fighting until the last minute without giving up is one of the key characters in any team dreaming of lifting the title at the end of the season.

Liverpool have so far faced Chelsea and Arsenal in the top-six bracket and came out on top. But for how long can they remain on top with their perfect record intact?

The next couple of matches will be a big test of their character;

1. Manchester United - 20th October (Away)

The Reds will travel to Old Trafford in their first match after the international break, to take on Ole Gunnar's Manchester United.

The Reds are at their worst, but even on their knees, will present a stern opposition for Klopp's men. They might be 15 points above them, but their rivalry will play a key role in the match.

2. Tottenham - 27th October (Home)

Mauricio Pochettino's men are in a crisis, at least that's what it seems like at the moment. A humiliating defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League was quickly followed by a humbling 3-0 defeat away to Brighton, and suddenly there are doubts over the Argentine's future.

But just like Man United, the London side will not be a walk in the park and will most definitely bring out a different team in what will be their first meeting since the Champions League finals.

3. Arsenal - 30th October (Home)

Well, this might not be a League clash, but it will be a big match in the Carabao Cup against a very good side in the top flight. We will expect both teams to go all-out and parade their best possible sides.

4. Aston Villa - 02 November (Away)

Aston Villa are on the bottom half of the table and might not present a stern test for the league leaders, but should be handled carefully to avoid an upset.

5. Manchester City - 10 November (Home)

The Reds will have the chance to deal a major blow against, perhaps, their only main challengers for the title when they host Pep Guardiola's side.

There's already an eight-point gap between the two sides and if they win the tie, they can have the feeling that they can actually go all the way!

There are Champions League fixtures between the league matches, which can only add to the congestion.

Will they stand the barrage of fixtures? Only time will tell.
