Italian side Sampdoria has appointed former Chelsea and Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri as the club's manager.
Ranieri takes over from Eusebio di Francesco who was shown the door by Sampdoria on Monday following a string of poor results which saw the club lose six out seven matches. The Italian also succeeded Di Francesco at Roma in March on a contract until the end of last season. This is Ranieri's 20th managerial appointment and a ninth spell as a boss in Italy's top flight.
Ranieri has a wealth of experience in Serie A, having previously taken charge of the likes of Fiorentina, Juventus, Inter and AS Roma, the latter on two separate occasions.
The 67-year-old has signed a deal until 2021, according to the club’s official website.
