Serie A club Napoli are reportedly in contention to extend striker Jose Callejon's contract for an additional two years according to Calciomercato via Gazzetta dello Sport.
Callejon has been vocal about remaining at Napoli and now it seems the board are close to reaching an agreement with the player.
However, according to reports, the Naples-based side will extend his contract under the condition he accepts a lesser salary which will see him earn €2 million per season, €1 million less than his current deal.
Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that Callejon's agent Quilon has requested a meeting with the club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis where he can possibly negotiate a better deal for the 32-year-old.
Callejon signed with Napoli back in 2013 from La Liga outfit Real Madrid for a fee that was in the region of approximately €10 million at the time.
