Reports: PSG to make Mbappe world's best-paid player

Kylian Mbappe could become the world's highest earner with reports suggesting that Paris Saint Germain will offer him a fresh contract.

Mbappe signed for PSG in 2017 from AS Monaco for a reported fee of £167m, making him the most expensive player of all time. The Frenchman now is in his third season and reports have suggested he will not sign a new contract as he wants to move to Spanish giants Real Madrid with Barcelona also keeping tabs.

A Spanish outlet is reporting that the Ligue 1 champions are willing to pay Mbappe a whopping £44m a year to commit his long-term future to PSG.

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi is currently the world's highest earner who is said to be receiving an annual sum of £35m, while Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo both have contracts that see them earn £26.3m.

And now PSG's hierarchy is willing to pour heavy resources into keeping the 20-year-old after accepting that Neymar will leave the club next summer.
