Juventus chief speaks on Cristiano Ronaldo's retirement speculation

After Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that he could retire in "one or two years", Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has insisted that the Portuguese has no plans of quitting before the end of his current contract.

Ronaldo's current deal at Juventus runs until 2022 and recently revealed that he could hang his boots in "one or two years."

The 34-year-old struck the 700th goal in his professional career as Portugal suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ukraine on Monday night.

Paratici was asked if he sees Ronaldo retiring in the next one or two years, "Absolutely not. Ronaldo is very focused on his goals as well as his own personal objectives as he is the Golden Ball candidate again.

"I do not think he can leave at the end of this season and I doubt he will leave at the end of the next one. At the moment I am sure of one thing, we have a contract."

Ronaldo has shown no signs of slowing down as last season he scored 28 goals in 43 games in all competitions as Juve secured another Serie A title.
