πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ—£ Nigeria's 2013 AFCON hero Mba calls for employment

It’s been two years since Sunday Mba had a football club, and the former international has admitted times are not easy.

While Mba claimed legendary status at AFCON 2013 with a goal to hand Nigeria the title, the 30-year-old met his fall in 2017. Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor released the Aba-born footballer and he has been clubless ever since.‬

‪"As a free agent things are not really that easy, but you can only be hopeful," Mba BBC Sport.‬

‪"My desire is to get back into club football and I am working hard to start playing again. Football is everything I have and I cannot just give up. I believe there's something out there for me."‬

The former Enyimba star confirmed what many footballers - successful and otherwise - will all tell you: luck plays a major role in this game. Mba also ressurred that he has consistently maintained individual training to keep his fitness.

‪"First you'd need the luck to find someone that believes in you and ready to give you a chance," he said.‬

‪"I've continued to stay in shape, train daily and be physically ready for any opportunity.‬ I still have something to give and will continue to stay mentally and physically ready."‬

Mba’s career clubs & stats:

  • Enyima: Unavailable
