Injury bug hit Ulinzi ahead of Tusker clash

Ulinzi Stars will have to do without the services of a chunk of players when they face Tusker FC in week seven of KPL action.

According to the club on their official portal, the first casualty of the game slated for Saturday 26 October at the Afraha Stadium will be stand-in skipper Boniface Okinyi, who is expected to be out for a week after being withdrawn in the club’s last outing against KCB.

According to Ulinzi Doctor John Imboywa’s report defender Omar Mbongi, who has been struggling with a thigh muscle injury for is set for further scans to confirm if he will be fit for the game.

James Saruni

Goalkeeper James Saruni is another absentee and he is expected to resume training after two weeks; right back Cyril Nasiali who suffered a calf muscle sprain earlier in the season being another player expected to be out for a month.

George Omondi who picked up a thigh muscle injury in the run-up to the KCB game is expected to sit out of the game but is expected to be back for contention in the coming week.

Young midfielder Ibrahim Shambi had a scare after picking up an injury on Wednesday’s training but will be reviewed before the weekend game.

The club, however, will welcome back midfielder Daniel Waweru who missed the club’s last outing against KCB.
