What Lampard told Chelsea players at halftime during victory over Palace

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has revealed what he told his players at half time against Crystal Palace where the team registered a 2-0 win.

Chelsea settled for a goalless draw with Palace as the half time whistle blew and Lampard admitted he was frustrated by his side's performance in the first half. Despite the dominance, the Blues found it hard to break Palace's resistance and Lampard urged his players to increase the tempo after the restart.

The west London side came more aggressive in the second half and secured a 2-0 win thanks to strikes from Tammy Abraham and Christian Pulisic.

"I was a bit frustrated I thought we allowed the tempo to drop through the half. I thought if we got the early goal it feels a different game," Lampard said.

"As the game went on the game became a bit broken. We were a bit slow with throw-ins, free kicks, and forward passes. I just thought if we increase the tempo the game was there to be won and the players went out and did that."

The victory lifted Lampard's men into second place in the Premier League standings.
