Pep Guardiola responds to claims of a Bayern Munich return

With reports linking Pep Guardiola to a return to Bayern Munich, the Spanish manager has denied rumors that he is unhappy at Manchester City.

Bayern Munich sacked Nico Kovac after their 5-1 defeat at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt and installed Hans-Dieter Flick as the interim manager.

Guardiola has been linked with a return to Bayern after leaving the club in 2016 with Mauricio Pochettinho also linked to the vacant managerial job at Allianz Arena.

The former Barcelona manager responded to reports linking him with a move to Bayern, "Why do people think that? Because I’ve lost at Anfield?

"That’s an odd reason, the real situation is 198 points in two seasons – exceptional. The first season at Anfield saw one shot on target, but the last game all the shots, corners, in the most difficult stadium in the world. That’s my job.

"I will leave when I feel my team are not playing like that at Anfield. I don’t have that feeling, maybe the players say the opposite, I don’t have that feeling. If it’s not enough, next season will be better."
