Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Sergio Aguero is set to be out of action for a few weeks after he sustained a muscle injury during the side's clash against Chelsea.
According to Sky Sports, Guardiola also added that Aguero has been ruled out ahead of the Manchester Derby set to take place on Saturday, December 7.
The 31-year-old limped off the pitch in the second half of the clash and according to reports his injury has come at a rather bad time for the club as his goalscoring abilities are needed in their upcoming matches.
Manchester City are in contention to play ten matches in five weeks as they look to catch up to Liverpool in the Premier League - they also in contention to secure much-need wins in the UEFA Champions League as well as the Carabao Cup.
"It's the toughest period happening now," Guardiola said ahead of his side's clash against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night.
"It's a lot of games but it's what it is. My advice to my players and myself is not to think too much. We have enough good players and the mentality will give us extra. Maybe it will help us.
"I never came here and said 'oh, we didn't have this player'. I am so sorry for them but they have to recover individually. We are going to wait but that is why we have a good squad.
"It's the best thing to move forward. People don't care if you have injuries. Find the solutions you have to find."
