How Pep Guardiola consoled Fred after alleged racist abuse in Manchester derby

After Fred suffered racist abuse in Manchester United's 2-1 win over Manchester City, Pep Guardiola consoled Fred in the mixed zone and had a 30 seconds chat with the Brazilian.

In the closing stages of the game, Fred went to take a corner but was hit by a missile as television images showed what could be possible racist gestures from a supporter.

According to reports, after Guardiola completed his post-match press conference he saw Fred in the mixed zone area reserved for reporters to speak with players and approached the Brazilian.

Guardiola compassionately cupped Fred's face and the pair spoke for around 30 seconds before the 26-year-old boarded the United team coach.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had this to say about the incident, "I've seen it on the video, it was Jesse and Fred and the fella must be ashamed of himself.

"It's unacceptable and I hope he will not be watching any football anymore. Fred and Jesse were taking a corner and I've seen the video, heard from the boys.

"We keep talking about it every bloody week. But he's been caught on camera, he should in my opinion never be allowed into a football ground again."
