Enyimba were condemned to a second defeat of the season, no thanks to an Utibe Arit's brace that gave Dakkada FC a 2-1 victory.
In a dramatic final quarter-hour at the God’swill Akpabio International Stadium, the substitute got his first from a rebound, but Victor Mbaoma seemed to have secured a point for Enyimba when he equalised with four minutes left until Arit turned the game around with a 93rd-minute winner for Dakkada.
It was the first-ever league meeting between both sides, and Olufemi Kayode, making his first domestic appearance for Enyimba, was forced to make several saves.
Sunday's result means Enyimba have dropped to sixth place in the Nigeria Professional Football League table, four points behind leaders, Plateau United.
The People’s Elephant will be back in action on Wednesday with a home fixture against Lobi Stars.
