Bordeaux and Nantes have crashed out of the French Cup despite featuring their Nigerian wingers.
Samuel Kalu was a 64th-minute substitute, but could not prevent Bordeaux from losing 2-0 away to Brest in the round of 16 of the French League Cup on Wednesday night.
Kalu’s Nigerian teammate Joshua Maja did not see action in the game as he was an unused substitute.
Second-half goals from Samuel Grandsir and Gaetan Charbonnier sealed Brest's passage into the quarter-final.
In another game, Moses Simon was in action for Nantes who fell 1-0 at home to Strasbourg.
The only goal of the game was scored by Nuno Da Costa with 12 minutes left in the game.
