French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux may sanction their Nigerian winger Samuel Kalu for late arrival from holiday.
Kalu travelled to Nigeria for the holiday and only returned to the club on Monday, citing passport issues.
His failure to team-up with others on time saw him miss last weekend’s Coupe de France clash against Le Mans.
“Each player who tries to fake things or who does not have adequate responsibility towards the club must be punished,” Bordeaux manager Paulo Sousa was quoted on Girondis33.com.
The severity of his sanction is not known at the time of this report, but Complete Sports reported that he has already been demoted to train with Bordeaux’s second team.
